Pazzta920 on Epicurious

Mariano Julio 18th, 2007

Lisa Abend, editor of Epicurious, stopped by our fresh pasta stall, wanting to know a bit more about the project.

She’s been following our story for some time, and along with her partner they visited us at the Boqueria on the opening day. They took some pictures and asked some questions during our first day of business.

The end result has been a series of articles which will be published in the Epicurious blogs (Gourmet’s Choptalk). The first article tells the story of how the partners got together, how the idea for the stall came about, etc.

Here’s a little clip from it:

So you’ve got these friends, and when you get together, you spend a lot of time talking about food. Only one has any professional cooking experience, but over long meals, you work out an elaborate collective fantasy about opening some kind of culinary business. What should it be? A restaurant? Too time consuming (you’ve all got jobs, after all). A shop for prepared foods? Rent’s too expensive. How about a stand in the market? And while we’re at it, why not make it a stand in the most famous market in the world?

Keep on reading.

Thanks Lisa ;-)
